Free Summer Lunch For Kids Launches At Virginia Avenue Park

The free summer lunch program is for school-aged kids and runs through August 11 in Santa Monica.

SANTA MONICA, CA — A free summer lunch program for school-aged kids starts Monday at Virginia Avenue Park in Santa Monica, the city announced.

The program is a collaboration with the city's Department of Education and offers free grab-and-go meals Monday through Friday at the Virginia Avenue Park Thelma Terry Building from noon to 1 p.m. through August 11, 2021.

All meals meet the nutritional requirements established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, city officials said.

Adults can pick up a bag lunch for each school-age child in their household without a child present due to COVID-19 safety guidelines until supplies last.

This service is walk up only. Face masks are required at the program.
