Longtime Santa Monica Resident Henio Arcangeli Dies At 87

He died peacefully surrounded by family following the progressive debilitation of Alzheimer's disease.

SANTA MONICA, CA – Longtime Santa Monica resident Henio Raul Arcangeli died peacefully and surrounded by family following the progressive debilitation of Alzheimer's disease on Oct. 13. He was 87.

His parents were the late Guerino and Yolanda Arcangeli of San Genaro Norte, Argentina, and he was the youngest brother to the late Derby and Omar Arcangeli, according to Legacy.com. Loved ones described Arcangeli as incredibly smart and regularly the top student of his class in Rosario, Argentina.

In search of the American dream, he immigrated to Los Angeles in 1957 and worked for several years to establish himself before proposing to his future wife. Shortly after his future bride Griselda arrived from Argentina, they were married.

He started his own commercial refrigeration company, Air-X, Inc., with a partner, the late Jack Messing. Together, through hard work and perseverance, they grew Air-X into a successful business for 35 years until they sold the company upon their planned retirement, according to Legacy.com.

Arcangeli enjoyed reading, investing in real estate, and watching boxing and soccer on television – he loved to root for the Argentina national soccer team. He is survived by his wife, Griselda, his two sons Henio Jr. (Mary) and Carlos (Jane), and 4 grandchildren, Gabriela, Michael, Nicolas, and Bobby.
