SANTA MONICA, CA — A power outage in Santa Monica affected almost 2,000 customers Friday morning, according to Southern California Edison.

The outage started at 9 a.m. on Friday and it's predicted that most customers would see power restored by 11 a.m. The outage continued to grow throughout the morning, starting at about 1,500 and growing to 1,946 customers affected.

The outage was reported in the area of California Avenue and 4th Street. As of 10:25 a.m., a field investigator was on their way to the area where the outage was reported to determine the cause.
