New Pierside Hotel Opens In Santa Monica

SANTA MONICA, CA — The first hotel to open on Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica in over a decade, The Pierside Hotel, is open for business as of last week.

The Pierside is now the closest hotel to the iconic Santa Monica Pier as it debuted following a multi-million-dollar reimagination as a premium lifestyle hotel, according to hotel representatives.

"As Santa Monica’s newest hotel near one of the most iconic locations in the destination, let alone the U.S., The Pierside will invigorate one of the city’s most lively street corners for guests and locals alike," said General Manager Karina Sedigh.

There are 132 guestrooms and suites at The Pierside and other amenities include communal seating areas in the hotel lobby, a pool area with food and beverage service, a full0service gear rental shop, a state-of-the-art fitness center and a new signature restaurant called The Surfing Fox.

The Surfing Fox is set to open in the spring and will feature an open-air patio to give guests a view of the Pier and Santa Monica social scene. Representatives of the hotel said their goal was to celebrate what makes Santa Monica special at the restaurant.

In line with the city's commitment to sustainability, The Pierside is an Energy Star-certified hotel. Sustainability initiatives at the hotel even extend to responsibly sourced food and beverage options, with hydration stations available for guests to fill complimentary reusable aluminum water bottles given to them at check-in
