Patio del Mar Opens for Al Fresco Dining

The alfresco Patio del Mar at Hotel Casa del Mar has reopened for summer in Santa Monica. Located right on the beach the location is perfect for sunset cocktails, light bites and seafood dishes.

Diners can take in the fresh ocean air while sipping on champagne, an Aperol Spritz or a refreshing beer.

Appetizers include a chopped pier salad with fresh Farmer’s Market lettuces, mint, tomatoes, chayote, pickled onions, apple, pecans and a herb dressing; a kale salad with parmesan, almonds and a chili lemon dressing and a more hearty steak salad with baby lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, green and red onions, ginger, cilantro and mint. There is also a nice guacamole with homemade tortilla chips.

Seafood choices include oysters from both coasts, shrimp ceviche with vegetable chips, a Maine lobster roll, shrimp quesadillas with pickled pineapple, an open faced swordfish sandwich with lemon garlic aioli and a shellfish tower with oysters, clams, mussels, scallops, shrimps and lobster.

Sandwiches include a chicken avocado sandwich and a skirt steak chimichurri sandwich, carbonara and margherita flatbreads and a juicy Wagyu burger.

Desserts include a raspberry panna cotta, lemon raspberry tart, vanilla ice cream cookie sandwich and an assortment of gelato.
