SANTA MONICA, CA — Santa Monica will rain tacos come Tuesday evening. Well, sort of.

Some 174,000 LED lights on Pacific Park's Ferris wheel will illuminate the Santa Monica Pier with images of tacos and bright yellow, white and blue Tuesday for National Taco Day.

The bright display will start at sunset, around 6:34 p.m. and last through 12:30 a.m. at 380 Santa Monica Pier. The display is a "salute to the tasty taco," organizers said.

The Ferris wheel is nine stories high and covered in lights, which have been switched out to be more eco-friendly.

The Pacific Park Ferris wheel was recently lit up to honor late basketball legend Kobe Bryant with gold and purple lights and the phrase "LA [loves] 24" and "LA [loves] 8."
