Santa Monica Beach Among 10 Best In California: New Ranking

SANTA MONICA, CA — Santa Monica State Beach is among the top 10 beaches in California, according to a new ranking from USA Today.

The publication tapped experts to compile a list of the top beaches in the Golden State and then asked readers to vote on which ones should make the top-10 cut.

Appearing on the list is a high honor: By USA Today's count, there are over 400 beaches scattered along California's 840 miles of coastline.

Santa Monica State Beach came in at No. 6.

"Santa Monica State Beach is home to a vibrant seaside lifestyle, with its wide stretches of soft sand, top-notch waves, iconic pier, and bustling boardwalk, making it a fantastic destination for locals as well as tourists," the publication wrote. "Visitors have access to convenient facilities and there's many available activities, including biking and skating along the scenic beach path, taking a dip in the Pacific, and lounging under an umbrella — all while soaking in those SoCal vibes."
