SANTA MONICA, CA — The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District will move locations within Santa Monica, Interim Superintendent Mark Kelly announced Thursday.

Effective Feb. 21, the district office will move from its current location at 1651 16th Street to 1717 4th Street, adjacent to the Santa Monica High School campus.

"The move into this building adjacent to the Samohi campus on District property brings several departments together under one roof, providing for better collaboration and work flow. We are excited to be adjacent to our largest campus, Samohi, for easily accessible campus and staff visits," Kelly said in a message to community members.

All of the office's phone numbers and email addresses will remain the same. Staff can be contacted during normal business hours even during the week of the transition. Community members are encouraged to get in touch with a representative if they need to make an upcoming in-person visit to determine the location.

"I appreciate our staff’s enthusiasm and support during this transition and thank your stakeholders in advance for your cooperation, patience and understanding while our staff transitions and gets settled in our new spaces," Kelly said.
