Santa Monica ZIP Code Among Country's Top 10 Most Expensive: Study

With a median sale price of $4.49 million this year, one Santa Monica ZIP code is among the most expensive in the nation, a study found.

SANTA MONICA, CA — With a median home-sale price of $4.49 million, Santa Monica's 90402 ZIP code was the eighth most expensive in the entire country, according to a new analysis from real estate data site PropertyShark.

The ZIP code covers North of Montana, whose tree-lined streets are dominated by large single-family homes. It's one of 20 ZIP codes in Los Angeles County that appeared on PropertyShark's list — more than any county in the U.S.

To come up with the list, PropertyShark calculated median sale prices based on closed home sales this year, up until Oct. 20. To be included, ZIP codes must have had at least three sales. The top 100 list included 122 ZIP codes due to ties, according to PropertyShark.

The North of Montana ZIP code was the second most expensive in the county, second only to Beverly Hills (90210), which had a median sale price of $4.8 million.

Coming in third in the region was nearby Pacific Palisades (90272), with a median price of $3.54 million.
