Trejo's Tacos Hosts Grand Opening In Santa Monica
Actor Danny Trejo hosted a belated grand opening for his taco spot in Santa Monica, Trejo's Tacos.
SANTA MONICA, CA — Danny Trejo's Santa Monica taco spot celebrated its grand opening on Tuesday with BOGO tacos and live mariachi.
The fourth Trejo's Tacos location opened in Santa Monica in August, joining locations in La Brea, Hollywood and the Farmers Market near the Grove.
The Santa Monica location served up a buy-one-get-one-free deal on their classic creative taco flavors like chicken tikka, fried chicken, blackened salmon and a vegan jackfruit taco. Attendees danced along to live mariachi and watched Trejo's ceremonial ribbon cutting. The Santa Monica location sits at 316 Santa Monica Blvd.

Trejo's Tacos, open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, offers a number of vegan and meat options including bowls, burritos and tacos.
Trejo, an Angeleno from Echo Park, also owns a donut spot in LA and has a Trejo's Tacos-inspired cookbook.

"It's good food. There's no secret. Your people will come to your restaurant if you're a celebrity one time to get a picture or an autograph. But if the food's not good, they're not coming back," Trejo told KCRW.
