Two Charged In Saturday's Santa Monica Stabbing

The victim was believed to be alt-right internet figure Baked Alaska's bodyguard, but police do not believe the attack was political.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Two men were charged Tuesday with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon following a stabbing at a Santa Monica parking structure.

Edgar Khodzhasaryan, 30, of Glendale, and Arsen Bekverdyah, 31, of Burbank, were each charged with infliction of great bodily injury and personal use of a knife, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

The stabbing happened around 11 p.m. Saturday, stemming from an argument the City's Parking Structure 8 in the 200 block of Colorado Avenue. A victim was discovered lying on the sidewalk in 100 block of Colorado Avenue with multiple stab wounds, Santa Monica police Lt. Saul Rodriguez said.

"The victim was treated at the scene by Santa Monica Fire Department Paramedics and transported to a local hospital for treatment," he said. "The victim remains hospitalized in stable condition.”

The victim, identified as Antonio "Tony" Foreman in a tweet by alt-right internet figure Baked Alaska, was believed to the internet figure's bodyguard. Police do not believe the attack was politically motivated.

The suspects were arrested about 25 minutes after the attack Saturday at the UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica after the staff there alerted police about two patients who were possibly involved in the stabbing. The two remain in county jail on $1 million bail.
