Build, decorate and create your zucchini cars for the Annual Zucchini Races that take place at the Tuesday Farmers’ Market on August 20th!

BYOZ (Bring your own zucchini) and come get crazy decorating your mobile for your zuke! Get guidance from Makers Camp specialist, Robert Van de Walle on best ways to construct your zucchini for speed and durability His most recent creation is an award winning collaborative work called Trashlantis, a human-powered amphibious pedal car decorated as the lost city of trash found beneath the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, so Robert knows mobile construction!

Guidelines and Instructions for:

The Zucchini Car Races – August 20, 2024
Location: Tuesday Night Farmers Market on the Sonoma Plaza
On site registration is 5:00 – 5:45 PM
Races start 6:00 PM

All entries need to be 10” wide or smaller or they will not fit on the track.

Prizes are given for the fastest zucchini and ‘best in show.’ The registration form has 3 categories: Small (10” long and under) Med (11”-15” long) Large (16” and longer)

Workshop Supplies available: Different wheels like recycled chair wheels, skateboard, CDs, toy cars on hand but PLEASE bring your wheels if you have specific ones you want to use. Recycled materials and art supplies such as bottle caps, barbies and Dolls, cloth, buttons, feathers, googly eyes and other treasures!

Supplies you can bring: BYOZ! – Bring your own Zucchini that is no wider than 10’ wide (See rules for entry below) Any personal decor, stuffed animals,wheels, cars or flair you would like to work with or share!
