ARVADA, CO โ€” With City Manager Mark Deven retiring in October, Arvada has begun a national recruitment process to find his successor. The application period for the position opens Friday and is listed on the city's website.

Arvada is working to incorporate community engagement into the recruitment process, according to a news release. As the first component, Arvada has launched a survey on Speak up Arvada to allow locals to express the kind of qualities they want to see in the next City Manager.

Once the application period is over, candidates will be screened, and the top candidates will be presented to the city council, according to a news release. It is expected that finalists for the position will be announced in August, at which time an open house will be held to give the community a chance to meet them.
