Authorities Identify 2 Dead In Colorado Springs Murder-Suicide

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO β€” Police identified a man and woman who died last week in an apparent murder-suicide.

Around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, Colorado Springs police were called for a shooting inside a home on the 4700 block of Live Oak Drive. Officers found a man and woman with gunshot wounds.

Both were taken to a hospital for treatment. The man, identified by police Thursday as Esteban Vasquez, 32, of Colorado Springs, died of from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after arriving at the hospital.

The woman, identified as Nicole Vasquez, 30, of Colorado Springs, was admitted for treatment after she was shot. She died Saturday.

Police said her death was the 10th homicide in the city this year. An 11th homicide was later announced Thursday.

At this time last year, police said there were two homicides.
