Lakewood To Test Outdoor Sirens Wednesday

LAKEWOOD, CO โ€” The city of Lakewood will be conducting a test of its outdoor siren system at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The test should be done by 11:30.

The test will begin with a long wail, followed by a voice test message over the public address aspect of the system, across all 26 sirens, city officials said. The test will end with one long siren wail.

During the test, if weather conditions require a tornado watch or warning to be issued for the area, the test will be canceled.

"The annual test of the outdoor siren system is required to ensure that all 26 siren sites in Lakewood are functioning correctly," officials said.
