Art, Zen, Special Effects, and Trivia!!

The Barn has something for everyone this August!!

The Barn, a non-profit youth organization, is continuing to provide local youth enriching and fun programming while following the state and local guidelines for staying healthy this summer. Keeping the health and safety of it's participants in mind, in person programming has been limited to a 10 person maximum. Be sure to register as soon as possible to secure your spot!

Continuing with their weekly themed summer camps, August 3-7 brings Fun with Art, an exploration into the many fun and expressive methods of creativity. The Instructors, two talented high school graduates, will bring a fresh and exciting perspective to the week with activities like hydro-dipping, Sumi-e, Bob Ross Day, and so much more!

Following that week will be a camp dedicated to relaxation. The Zen Retreat Camp on August 10-14 will be a great way for students to de-stress before the upcoming school year. This camp will nurture the body, mind and soul and will offer a way to help deal with stress and anxiety through Yoga, guided meditation, mindfulness, relaxation and so much more.

Not ready for a whole week of fun? The Barn has workshops too! Let's Make a SCENE: A Special Effects workshop will be held August 2nd and 9th, 3-6pm. Participants will experience a behind the scene look at how the magic of theater is made and then implement what they learned by creating a scene of their very own using special effects, lighting, etc.

Finally, The Barn is a very small non-profit that runs on the income generated from our programs and generous donations from our wonderful Patrons and Supporters. In an effort to raise money, an Online Trivia Night for adults is scheduled for Saturday August 8th, 9-10pm. It is a FREE event, but donations are VERY welcome. Prizes are donated generously by our local wine and spirits businesses, so participants must be local (Madison, Clinton, Guilford) as well as at least 21 years old.
