Alves Seeks Residents For New Danbury Community Advisory Committee

The Mayor's Community Advisory Committee will consist of seven subcommittees providing insight and input into Danbury life.

DANBURY, CT — Mayor Roberto Alves has announced the formation of The Mayor's Community Advisory Committee.

The new body will consist of seven subcommittees, each tasked with "providing insight and input into existing challenges, recommending policies, and programs, and strengthening partnerships throughout Danbury" in seven different areas of focus.

  • Education
  • Recreation & Community Services
  • Housing

The MCAC will hold its first public meeting on the evening of Feb. 15 at Western Connecticut State University, in Danbury.

"This is one of many steps my Administration is taking to bolster community empowerment and participation and create an additional link between City Hall, stakeholders, and members of the Danbury community. We’re delivering on a major promise to meet, collaborate, and engage with residents where they’re at. I'm looking forward to seeing what MCAC community advisors bring to the table and putting those results into action," Alves said in a statement released Monday.
