Coelho Endorsed By 24th Senate District GOP Convention

On Tuesday, May 14th, Michelle Coelho was unanimously endorsed by the 24th Senate District Republican convention to represent Danbury, New Fairfield, and Ridgefield.

Coelho was nominated by Jeff Berlant and seconded by retired City of Danbury Fire Chief, Phil Curran. They cited Coelho’s strong family values, her ability to listen and address others concerns, her support for local control and parental choice and unwavering patriotism as her notable qualities

“I am so thankful for the opportunity to represent the people of the 24th Senate District. When I speak with residents, I hear the same concerns time and time again,” Coelho stated. “Connecticut is becoming too expensive. Housing is unaffordable, energy bills are continuing to sky rocket, and the cost of groceries is placing a heavy burden on families just trying to make ends meet."

In terms of public safety, it is becoming harder for municipalities to find people who want to become police officers. Ask around and you will hear how crime is making its way into our neighborhoods at a rapid pace. These are dangerous trends that I am ready to tackle head on as your State Senator.” Coelho brings intelligence and enthusiasm with a keen business sense and a strong background in design and project management. As a mother of 3, she has exemplified strong moral standards and accountability. Coelho's unique background as a first-generation Cuban-American has shaped her perspective on the American Dream and its attainability, while beng aware of the potential pitfalls of government overreach and bad policies.

Coelho pledges to protect communities from state law that would infringe on local zoning laws. She aims to keep the state budget balanced and will fight for lower taxes, the elimination of wasteful spending, and reducing unfunded State mandates on municipalities which strain local municipal budgets.
