DANBURY, CT — A bar in Danbury will have its liquor license suspended for four days next month, according to the state Department of Consumer Protection Liquor Control Commission.

According to the notice, the suspension was for violation of four Title 30 Connecticut General Statutes involving the operation of a bar in the state, including selling to a minor. La Canchita Bar & Lounge, at 6 Delay Street in Danbury, has paid a $2,500 fine and will have its liquor license suspended Aug. 1-4, according to state records.

This isn't the first time the bar has run afoul of state regulations. In July 2020, La Canchita's proprietors were among five bar owners whose establishments were cited for noncompliance with an order by Gov. Ned Lamont restricting outdoor dining during the COVID-19 pandemic.
