Danbury Declares Level 3 Snow Emergency

Mayor Dean Esposito​ has called for a level 3 snow emergency​ to go into effect at 8 p.m. Friday.

Parking will be  prohibited on Danbury streets​. To avoid having their vehicles ticketed and towed, residents must take immediate  and move to off-street parking by 10:00 p.m. Friday.

DANBURY, CT — Mayor Dean Esposito has called for a level 3 snow emergency to go into effect at 8 p.m. Friday.

Parking will be prohibited on city streets. To avoid having their vehicles ticketed and towed, residents must take immediate and move to off-street parking by 10:00 p.m. Friday.

The Patriot Parking Garage will be open free of charge starting at 7:30 PM to accommodate those who need space to comply with this weather emergency.

Travel on city streets is restricted to emergency vehicles, public works, four-wheel drive, and emergency personnel only.

City officials advise residents secure all outdoor items or bring them inside.

The National Weather Service is forecasting total snow accumulations of 7 to 10 inches in Fairfield County, with winds gusting as high as 45 mph. Near blizzard conditions are possible for a period on Saturday.
