Danbury Man Enters Plea In Overdose Death

Police said the man sold drugs to a woman who died of an overdose in April.

DANBURY, CT ― A Danbury man waived his right to be indicted and plead guilty to a heroin distribution charge after someone he sold heroin to died of an overdose, according to the U.S. Attorney's office. Jose Gregory Charon, also known as “Yoshi,” 31, of Danbury, will be sentenced in March for the charge.

Police said they tied Charon to the death of a woman in April of an overdose of methadone and benzodiazepine. In May, investigators made two controlled buys of heroin from Charon, marked with the same brand stamp that was found at the woman's home.

Charon was arrested in September. He faces a maximum of 20 years in prison.
