Danbury Mayor Appoints Economic Development Officer

Mayor Roberto Alves announced the appointment of Danbury business owner and developer, Jorge Sousa, to lead the city's economic development.

DANBURY, CT — Mayor Roberto Alves announced the appointment of longtime Danbury resident, business owner, and developer, Jorge Sousa, as the city's economic development officer.

Sousa is a graduate of Henry Abbot Tech in Danbury and received his bachelor's in management from Teikyo Post University, and an MBA from the University of New Haven. He spent eight years with Cendant Mobility, now Cartus, in Danbury as a relocation accounting analyst before founding Clearview Realty LLC which provides real estate services to buyers, sellers, tenants, and landlords, according to a statement from the Mayor's Office released Wednesday.

Sousa thanked Alves for entrusting him to "build upon his vision for the future of Danbury."

"I’m excited to work with our current business partners and develop new relationships to reinvigorate economic development for the city and stimulate both the local economy and the workforce," Sousa said. "We’ve already begun strategically planning for and implementing development projects that spur smart growth and encourage businesses and families to make Danbury their home.”
