Today, Mayor Roberto L. Alves announced the City of Danbury will receive an additional $12 million in municipal aid and a $250,000 Working Cities Grant from the State of Connecticut, bringing unprecedented funds to the City of Danbury. This windfall comes to Danbury after Mayor Alves and his Administration’s monthslong campaign to advocate for Danbury’s needs with House, Senate, and State leadership, in tandem with the legislative delegation.

“For over 20 years city leaders were unable to follow through on their promises to advocate for and deliver Danbury’s share of much-needed overdue funds for every person who lives, works, and grows up in Danbury. I’m glad I can stand here today and say we’re following through on leveraging our relationships in Hartford, and we’re delivering,” said Mayor Roberto L. Alves.

“These funds are critical to right track our city operations, and I couldn’t be more grateful to our legislative partners and to House and Senate leadership for the bright future they see in our great city, and I know Governor Lamont also sees that very same potential.”
