Grants Available For Danbury Nonprofits, Community Orgs & Residents

Danbury's Community Development Block Grant Program's funding proposal period is open now through March 14.

DANBURY, CT — The city's Community Development Block Grant Program’s funding proposal period for community-based organizations, nonprofits, city departments, and residents begins Feb. 1. Applications are due by 3 p.m. on March 14, according to a news release from the Mayor's Office.

The City of Danbury is allocated funds each year by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through the CDBG Program.

Projects for CDBG grants are used for a wide range of quality-of-life enhancements targeted principally toward low-to-moderate income and special needs residents throughout Danbury. The central purpose of funding is to help support stronger, more resilient communities, assist families and individuals, eliminate blight, and meet Danbury's urgent needs.

"Community Development Block Program is a valuable resource that plays an important role in projects throughout Danbury," said Mayor Roberto Alves. "It’s so important that local organizations and nonprofits capitalize on this incredible funding opportunity, and I want to encourage everyone to submit project proposals designed to uplift our community and improve quality of life for Danbury residents."
