Gucker Announces Candidacy For 138th District State Representative

Ken Gucker, former Connecticut State Representative for the 138th District in Danbury (2019-2023), has announced his candidacy for State Representative, 138th District, for the upcoming 2024 election.

Gucker, a longtime public servant and community advocate, spoke to his record of accomplishment as State Representative including several major initiatives that have benefitted the Danbury community and beyond.

Among his successful legislative achievements include an unprecedented volume of state aid funding for education, economic, environmental, and cultural projects.

State aid for Danbury public education was significantly increased during Gucker’s tenure. He fought for his constituents during the Covid pandemic to provide assistance to prevent foreclosures, granted help to those severely affected during this period, and funding for first responders. Ken got Clapboard Ridge re-paved for the first time in nearly two decades. He was the leader in securing legislation that provided funding for the Marjorie Trail, funding for the Richter Arts Association and Richter House for Americans with Disabilities (ADA) compliance, grant funding for the Danbury Museum and Historical Society, and the protection of Candlewood Lake, among others.

A graduate of Western Connecticut State University, an Eagle Scout, Scout Leader and Mentor, and small business owner, Ken Gucker has the experience and record of accomplishment that has and will serve Danbury and its people successfully in the future with both pride and passion.
