She found her second beloved family in the people of the King Street United Church of Christ and the love of her life, Ray A. Nobles.

Barbara married Ray in 1987 and her family was increased by two with the addition of Crista and Kyle Nobles. Barbara loved holidays and hosted her large family with fun gatherings where sitting at the table debating, discussing and laughing was encouraged and enjoyed by all. Her house was decorated each holiday to the delight of her grandchildren.

Her children and her church were her life. Barb participated in every aspect of church life: deacon, Adult Fellowship, she hosted many Women’s Society Christmas parties, volunteered at Dorothy Day, helped at Lasagna Dinners, but her most joy came from the music. Barbara and Ray loved traveling, cruises, and exploring the states using all of their time-shares. Alaska, New Orleans, Florida, Maine were their favorites.

Barbara lost her beloved husband Ray of 19 years in 2006. She was predeceased by her brothers, William Brown (Bette) and Robert Brown. Her sister-in-law Rosemary Brown has been a constant and comforting friend for all of Barb’s life.
