Obituary: Julius F. Demo, 98, Of Danbury

Julius was a highly respected owner and operator of his own artisan well drilling business until the age of 80.

DANBURY, CT — Julius F. Demo, 98, of Danbury, husband of the late Laura (Eastwood) and the late Mae (Moses), died at his home on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. He was born in Danbury on February 5, 1926, son of the late Michael and Rosa Antoinette (Pugliese) Demo.

As a young man Julius served his country as a Naval aircraft mechanic during War World II. By trade, he was a highly respected owner and operator of his own artisan well drilling business until the age of 80. All of his life, he was an avid and gifted gardener, and enjoyed making his own wine. Julius was a long time and faithful member of St. Gregory the Great Church, and most recently had joined Catholic War Veterans. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a caring, non-judgmental, and a peaceful soul.

Julius will be missed by his daughter, Linda Hansen; his grandchildren, Tanya Bennett (James), Julie Bell (Christopher), and Jessica Hansen (Dylan Tanger); his great-grandchildren Derek and Dallas Bennett, Sam and Andrew Bell, and Liam, Ryan, and Maryn Tanger; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers Dominic, Joseph, Jack, Peter, and Rochi.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Cornell Memorial Home on Monday, May 13 from 4 to 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Church on Tuesday, May 14 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions in his memory may be made to St. Gregory the Great Church or the Catholic War Veterans.
