One Danbury Firefighter Injured Battling Warehouse Blaze

First responders in Danbury found a working fire inside a Kenosia Avenue warehouse, and quickly upgraded the response to a fourth alarm

DANBURY, CT — One Danbury firefighter was injured battling a warehouse fire this past weekend.

The crew of a Danbury Fire Department engine was responding to an accident when they noticed smoke coming from a warehouse at 36 Kenosia Avenue at 12:15 a.m.

First responders found a working fire inside the warehouse, and quickly upgraded the response to a fourth alarm, bringing more companies to the scene, according to DFD spokesperson Erin Henry.

No one was inside the warehouse at the time of the fire. One Danbury firefighter sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital; they have since been released.

Danbury Emergency Management was on scene coordinating relief efforts. Assistance was called in from Brookfield, Monroe, Newtown, Wilton, Ridgefield, New Milford, Sandy Hook, Brewster, New Fairfield, Stevenson, Dodgingtown, and Putnam Lake.

"The Danbury Fire Department emphasizes its commitment to public safety and expresses gratitude for the collaborative efforts of all agencies involved," Henry said.

The fire, still under investigation, shut down Kenosia Avenue between Apple Ridge Road and Boulevard Drive.
