One Man Charged Following Danbury Stabbing

One man has been arrested on assault charges following a stabbing in Danbury this past weekend.

Following a preliminary investigation, Austin Turkis, 21, is facing charges of second-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment, and disorderly conduct.

DANBURY, CT — One man has been arrested on assault charges following a stabbing in Danbury this past weekend.

Police were called to 62 Chestnut Street for a report of an assault with a weapon at around 5:30 a.m. Saturday. Officers found a man suffering from an apparent stab wound to the shoulder. He was treated at the scene and taken to Danbury Hospital, according to police spokesperson Erin Henry.

Following a preliminary investigation, Austin Turkis, 21, is facing charges of second-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment, and disorderly conduct. He's being held on a $50,000 bond.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation, but all involved parties have been identified, according to Henry.
