Pedestrian 'Seriously Injured' After Being Struck By Car In Danbury

A woman pedestrian was seriously injured when she was struck while crossing Main Street shortly before midnight Friday, according to police.

DANBURY, CT — A woman pedestrian was seriously injured when she was struck while crossing Main Street shortly before midnight Friday, according to police.

The Danbury Police Department dispatched several officers to the area of 419 Main Street upon being notified of the accident. First responders found a woman down in the road near the intersection of North Street and Thorpe Street, where the accident occurred, police spokesperson Erin Henry said.

The woman, who has not been identified, was taken to the Danbury Hospital Emergency Room for treatment of her serious injuries. The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with police, according to Henry.
