DANBURY, CT — Recent obituaries from Danbury.

William Daniel Murphy, known by many at St. Gregory the Great Church in Danbury as "Deacon Bill," taught elementary, middle school, junior high and administered adult night education in the Danbury Public School System. He was an Exchange Club president and served as chaplain to the Danbury Police and Volunteer Fire Departments.

Mary Ann Petrellese, 80, worked as a private aide for Danbury Nurses Registry for years. In the early 1980s she and her husband bought Roger’s Park Pizza in Danbury, where everyone called her "Ma."

Bernard "Bernie" Gallo, 86, of Danbury, was a surveyor assistant, a machinist, a was employed with the former Amphenol Corporation as an engineer. Upon his retirement, he attained his real estate license and was an owner of Gallo Realty real estate brokerage company of Danbury.

Leo Kevin Barry, 70, of Danbury, was a grocery store manager at Shopwell, A&P, and the Food Emporium in Connecticut and Westchester County before becoming a union laborer and mason for many years.

Frank Anthony Mastriani, 91, was a longtime parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Parish and was actively involved in the church, attending weekly Mass there since it was a barn. He volunteered for the Red Cross, Junior Achievement, Community Chest, the American Cancer Society, and the Connecticut Welcome Center.

Benjamin DaSilva, 73, of Danbury, worked for many years as a truck driver for New England Building Products. He loved to play horseshoes and shoot pool, and was a huge Elvis fan.

David A. Poodiack, 56, lifelong Danbury resident, attended Saint Peter School and Immaculate High School. He was an avid fan of both the New York Yankees and Giants, and collected sports memorabilia.
