Danbury Mall Reopens After 'Suspicious Incident' Evacuation: PD

DANBURY, CT — The Danbury Fair Mall has been reopened following a police-led evacuation Thursday afternoon.

"The incident has been resolved," Danbury Police Department spokesperson Erin Henry said.

The DPD confirmed it was investigating a suspicious incident inside Macy's at the Mall, shortly after 4 p.m.

An officer told Hearst Media that someone had reported a bomb in the men's bathroom on the third floor, according to their report.

On social media, law enforcement officials requested that all avoid the area.

The Danbury Mall was not the only shopping center wrestling with evacuation concerns on Thursday.

At about 2:20 p.m., the Waterbury Police Department responded to an anonymous bomb threat at the Brass Mill Center Mall. The WPD said it "determined the threat to be non-credible, and there was no danger present."
