Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Fairfield/New Haven County

The weather service has just issued an advisory for inland sections of Fairfield and New Haven counties. Here's what you need to know.

NORTHERN SECTIONS OF FAIRFIELD/NEW HAVEN COUNTY — A winter weather advisory has been issued for interior sections of Fairfield and New Haven counties from 4 a.m. until noon Wednesday.

The National Weather Service said freezing rain is expected. Total ice accumulations of a light glaze.

"...Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute," the weather service cautioned.

Forecast details:

Tonight: A slight chance of snow, freezing rain, and sleet after 4am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 24. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday: Freezing rain likely before 10am, then rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 41. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Little or no ice accumulation expected.

Wednesday Night: A 30 percent chance of rain before 7pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 29. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. Southwest wind around 9 mph.
