Woman's Club of Danbury/New Fairfield Awards $12,000 in Scholarships

Six Local High School Seniors in Danbury and New Fairfield are recognized for their outstanding academic work and community service by WCDNF

Since 1982, the Woman's Club of Danbury/New Fairfield has awarded scholarships to local high school seniors. Throughout the years, $249,645 has been awarded through the proceeds of the club's yearly poinsettia sales.

In June 2024, six area high school seniors shared the sum of $12,000 for their excellent academic performance, outstanding school participation and community service. We are proud to announce that this year's recipients are Emily Samaniego from Danbury H.S., William Tucker from Immaculate H.S., Julia Tomaino from New Fairfield H.S., Matthew Crisci and Kelly Salinas from Henry Abbott Technical School and Haley Sanchez from the Alternative Center for Excellence.

In the fall, Emily plans to attend Western Ct State University. William will attend Purdue University. Julia will attend the University of CT at Storrs. Matthew will attend the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Kelly will attend the University of Hartford and Haley will attend Naugatuck Valley Community College.
