The Woman's Club of Danbury/New Fairfield recently completed a unique project that provided assistance to an area non-profit agency. Family Forward Advocacy is an educational outreach organization that provides support to parents who are raising attachment-disrupted and developmentally traumatized children. Family Forward provides parents programs and also advocates for public policy reform. More information about Family Forward Advocacy is available on their website.

The Arts and Culture Department of the Woman's Club of Danbury/New Fairfield donated $1,000 to Family Forward Advocacy. The money was raised at the WCDNF annual Spring Luncheon on May 21 by raffling off a dollhouse. This dollhouse was "brought back to life" after being rediscovered in a member's garage. A subgroup of the Arts and Culture committee spent countless hours painting, roofing, wallpapering and furnishing the dollhouse to restore it. This clever project not only provided financial support to Family Forward, but will provide hours of enjoyment to the lucky child who inherits it.
