CT Weather: Weekend Forecast Takes A Turn For The Worse

If you have outdoor weekend plans the forecast offers some bad news. Here is an updated look at the upcoming weekend weather forecast.

Today is the first day of summer or also the longest day of the year and we'll enjoy a summer-like day with sun breaking out and temps around 80 degrees. We can expect another nice day, albeit cooler one on Friday, but there is some bad news if you have outdoor weekend plans.

It appears there is a good chance for rain showers on Saturday afternoon and evening with a chance of a late thunderstorm. Sunday is definitely the better of the two weekend days as the sun will return and temps will be in the 80s. More rain is possible on Monday.

And if you put any credence in long-range weather forecasts, as of right now the July 4th holiday looks mostly sunny with temps near 90 degrees in Connecticut, according to the Weather Channel.

The National Weather Service says any early rain this morning will be followed by clearing skies after noon.

"Canadian high pressure builds into Northern New England tonight, and over the Gulf of Maine on Friday. This will usher in cooler air from the Atlantic as easterly winds develop. High temperatures on Friday will be several degrees cooler than today as a result."
