ENFIELD SENIOR CENTER MONTHLY PROGRAM INFORMATION

The Senior Center has a wide variety of programs year-round that range from fitness, arts and crafts, computer classes, support groups, presentations, Medicare counseling and legal services. We also hold special events, such as concerts, dances and craft fairs.

FOOT CARE

Great news – Foot Care is back! Foundations Foot Care, LLC will provide foot care sessions by a registered nurse. Foot care will occur the second Friday of the month with twelve 30-minute sessions. Cost is $40 per person paid by cash or check to the provider the day of service. Registration for these sessions is now open by phone or in-person! Participants may register for one appointment at a time.

PAINT PARTY

Explore your creativity. In this class, Sandy will guide you as you create a beautiful 11x14 inch Sunset Horse painting. All supplies are included. The next paint party is on Monday, September 16th from 1:00 to 3:30 pm. There is a limit of fifteen participants. The fee is $20 for residents/ $25 for non-residents.

HOSPICE CONSULTATION

There is a new “Ask the…” service here at the Enfield Senior Center! Sign up to speak with Kristine O’Neil from Compassus Care Services a Hospice Care Consultant who can assist you with the following:

- Providing education to individuals, families, and caregivers on the life-changing benefits of hospice care.

- Helping patients and families initiate the process to start hospice services, walking them through the process, and obtaining all necessary paperwork needed.

- Debunk the myths of Hospice.

Example myth: terminal cancer is the only reason for hospice - FALSE.

This service is held on the third Thursday of each month. O’Neil is here next on Thursday, September 19th from 10:00am to 12:00pm. You can sign up for a 15-minute session in-person at the senior center or by calling 860-763-7425. If any further consultation is needed with O’Neil, it will be managed directly through her.

CARTOONIST

Nationally syndicated and award-winning Cartoonist Rick Stromoski will share over 40 years of experience as a humorous illustrator in a laugh filled hour of comic fun! Rick will show samples of his humorous work, describe the process of humor writing and demonstrate his drawing technique! This event will be held on Thursday, September 19th at 1:30pm. Reserve a seat by calling 860-763-7425. This presentation is sponsored by: The Friends of the Enfield Senior Center.

FALL PIE SOCIAL

Join us in celebration of National Senior Center Month with pie and ice cream at our Fall Pie Social. All are welcome! This event will be held on Friday, September 20th at 2:00pm.
