AR Workshop Gives Handmade Blankets To Norma Pfriem Breast Center

The Norma Pfriem Breast Center was overjoyed to receive 35 of the coziest handmade blankets from their local community partner, AR Workshop.

AR Workshop committed in 2021 to NPBC being it’s ‘charity of choice.’ This being their first initiative benefiting NPBC, AR Workshop set up bins in their workshop and gently asked patrons to donate a skein of yarn at checkout, to be donated to the blanket-making for Norma Pfriem patients.

They quickly reached their goal of 175 skeins of yarn to make 30+ blankets, and immediately got to work with local volunteers making the blankets over a month’s time. Once 35 blankets had been made, they were transported to NPBC in Fairfield, who is distributing to breast cancer patients as they undergo chemotherapy and radiation. The patients are so appreciative of these, and love that they are so cozy. The knowledge that these blankets were donated and then made with love and support is such a gift in itself to someone going through a cancer diagnosis and treatment.

It’s these types of local partnerships (AR Workshop + Norma Pfriem Breast Center) that make Fairfield such a special place to live and call home.
