FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield is looking for volunteers to join its Forestry Committee and Pollinator Pathway Program, in an effort to help make the town "greener, shadier and more attractive to pollinators and people."

Fairfield has seen success with its Fairfield Tree Planting Program, the new Pocket Park on the Post Road, and more than a dozen pollinator gardens, and as a result, the town is looking to expand those efforts with more volunteers.

"The Fairfield Forestry Committee volunteers work with the Town Tree Warden to help restore and maintain our town's public tree canopy," officials wrote in a statement. "They also provide leadership to the Pollinator Pathway Program. Both Forestry Committee and Pollinator Pathway members do community outreach and organize events, vital to our Town in times of increasing temperatures and development."
