Farmington Man Killed In New Hartford Motorcycle Crash: Police

The accident happened late Monday afternoon.

NEW HARTFORD/FARMINGTON, CT — A Farmington man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Route 44 in New Hartford late Monday afternoon.

According to Connecticut State Police, Robert M. Holcomb, 31, of Buena Vista Drive, Unionville (Farmington) died in the crash, which happened at about 5:02 p.m. Monday.

Police said the 2013 Harley Davidson being ridden by Holcomb was traveling on Route 44 westbound, just west of Breezy Hill Road in New Hartford.

According to the accident report, Holcomb lost control of the motorcycle "for unknown reasons" and collided with a metal beam guard rail in the west shoulder of the roadway.

Holcomb suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Winsted Health Center for treatment, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The accident is under investigation.
