Glastonbury native receives prestigious national award

2024 Ken Black Leadership Award from the Society of Financial Service Professionals reflects nearly 50 years of service.

The Society of Financial Service Professionals (FSP) recently honored Kevin Baldwin with the 2024 Ken Black Leadership Award. Just one such award is given each year among 15,000 FSP members across the United States. The prestigious leadership award was created in 2005 to recognize individuals who epitomize the Society’s core values of relationships, education and ethics. It is named after Kenneth Black, a scholar, educator and author who served as editor of the Journal of Financial Service Professionals for 42 years.

Baldwin is a Founder and Managing Partner at B&L Financial Architects. Located at 85 Felt Road in South Windsor, the professional financial services firm helps individuals, families and businesses to design, build and maintain their custom financial futures. Services include income protection, investments, education, retirement, estate preservation and charitable giving. The firm was founded in 2010 and has a network of consultants across the State.

Baldwin grew up in South Glastonbury and earned a B.S. from the University of Connecticut at Storrs. His nearly 50-year career in financial services has included sales, training, management and executive positions at Penn Mutual, INA, Connecticut Mutual, Aetna, Lincoln Financial and Mass Mutual. His professional credentials include CLU, ChFC, CAP and CLTC.

In addition to leadership positions in state and national professional societies, Baldwin is active in Christian ministry. He serves on the Boards of Connecticut Radio Fellowship (WIHS 104.9 FM) in Middletown, Cornerstone Christian School in Manchester and the Take Charge Total Wellness Foundation in Bloomfield. Baldwin resides in Hebron and serves as an Elder at Christian Life Chapel in Colchester. His favorite form of recreation is flying private and commercial airplanes.
