The book, published by Amherst Media takes readers on a guided journey of historic, grand, dramatic and unique locations throughout the United States and provides tips to help others capture creative fine-art photographs of rusty, dusty subjects and locations. The authors share their processes, the gear they used, the camera settings, the stories behind the scenes, and how they pre-visualized their images and looked for or created light in each location.

The book features about 180 photographs of urban exploration, including shots of Grand Central Terminal in New York City and the neo-Gothic Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia.
