Area U.S. Marines Corps. Veteran to Receive Complementary "Room Re-Design" from Americana Furniture in Honor of Veterans Day

Veteran Michael Lally, and his wife, Gretchen, will receive a 're-design' of their Waterford home's master bedroom from Americana Furniture

U.S. Marine Corps. Veteran Michael Lally of Waterford, and his wife, Gretchen, and two sons, Sean (3) and Christopher (9), were named recipients of a complementary “Room Re-Design” from Americana Furniture in honor of the nation’s November 11th Veteran’s Day. The Lally family was chosen via a search by the non-profit Make-A-Home Foundation which helps Veterans and families in need.

Michael Lally served in the U.S. Marine Corps. for four years, including a deployment to the Mojavi Desert, and two nine-month tours in Iraq in 2003 and 2004, prior to being injured during his service to his country.

Mr. Lally and his sons were introduced during the iconic furniture store’s “Americana Applefest and Veteran’s Day Celebration” on November 7th when Americana Furniture President, Jon Hendel (second from left) and Americana Furniture Design Consultant Barbli Noel, announced that the family will receive a re-design of their master bedroom. The “Room Re-Design” is expected to feature bedroom furniture, accent pieces, lamps, accessories, draperies, and a rug chosen from Americana’s vast array of vendors.

Also announced during the “Celebration”, were the winners of Americana Furniture’s “Why Apple Pie Makes Me So Happy” Contest, Kathleen Leivers of Pawcatuck and Barbara Lewis of Waterford, and Sharon Meinz of East Lyme was named winner of their Baked Apple Pie Contest.

The “Celebration” also featured a ribbon cutting for the new Design Center, free apple pie, apple cider, apple cider donuts, and popcorn, live music by Still Pickin’ country western and bluegrass band of Chaplin plus a strolling magician, magic shows, ‘bob for apples’ contests, face-painting, raffle prizes and more. All “Celebration” guests also received a ten percent discounts on all in-store purchases.
