You guessed it, more snow will be accumulating for southern Connecticut in the next 24 hours.

Remember when it was 60 degrees on Christmas Eve? I didn’t think so.

The National Weather Service has issued a “Winter Weather Advisory” for southern Fairfield, southern New Haven, southern Middlesex, and southern New London counties from 6 p.m. to noon Wednesday. A Coastal Flood Advisory is also in effect for southern Fairfield and southern New Haven counties from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday.

A “Hazardous Weather Outlook” is in effect for northern Fairfield, northern New Haven, northern Middlesex, and northern New London counties for Tuesday evening into early Wednesday.

For areas with an advisory you can expect the following:

Snow will accumulate 2 to 4 inches, temperatures will be in the upper 20s, and visibilities will be reduced making travel difficult, the National Weather Service states.

Snow could begin after 4 p.m. today but pick up after 10 p.m. and continuing into early afternoon on Wednesday.

For areas with a Hazardous Weather Outlook, light snow will begin late Tuesday and into Wednesday morning and could accumulate up to two inches. About an inch of snow is possible late tonight and another inch during the morning on Wednesday.

After the snow ends Wednesday, there is a chance for snow showers on Thursday, and yes, a chance for more snow late Friday and into Saturday.

And the coldest temps of the year are arriving now, daytime highs by the weekend will be in the teens and at night temps could be near zero degrees.
