Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued for Ledyard

Here is what to expect during the evening commute, which may include thunderstorms.

The National Weather Service has issued a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for New London, Middlesex, Fairfield and New Haven Counties for Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 16.

On Monday, we dealt with freezing temps, snow and ice, and now there is talk of thunderstorms and fog. What a winter!

Here is the latest information via the National Weather Service for New London, Middlesex, Fairfield and New Haven counties:

“As widespread moderate to locally heavy rain falls on frozen ground, as it moves east across the area this afternoon... minor urban flooding of low lying poor drainage areas is likely.”

“A narrow band of heavy showers along with isolated thunderstorms may cause wind gusts of at least 58 mph across the region this afternoon.”

Up to an inch of rain is likely before 7 p.m. or so.
