Man Threw Bricks At Car, Causing It To Crash In Ledyard: Police

A man is accused of throwing bricks at a vehicle, which caused it to crash on Foxwoods Boulevard early Sunday morning, police said.

LEDYARD, CT — A man is accused of throwing bricks at a car causing a crash in Ledyard, according to police.

Police responded to a call at 3:27 a.m. Sunday on Foxwoods Boulevard in Ledyard.

They found a vehicle that had hit a tree head-on. After speaking to the people in the vehicle, police found that a New Britain man had thrown bricks at the vehicle, hitting the vehicle and causing it to crash.

The man then ran off into the woods and was later located by a Montville K9 officer.

An investigation found that the alleged crime stemmed from a domestic dispute, police said.

Initial reports of a person struck by a vehicle and a stabbing were inaccurate, according to police.

The New Britain man was charged with second-degree breach of peace, first-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree criminal assault.

He was transported to Backus Hospital as a precaution.

He was later released on $100,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court Monday.
