Snow, Ice And A Lot of Rain in Ledyard's Weather Forecast

From mild to wild and mild again — this week's weather is truly a New England staple.

Monday and Friday are the mildest days in the weather forecast this week. Late last week, there was a concern that a significant storm was going to impact us Tuesday through Thursday and could have been snow or rain.

Thanks to warmer temperatures, the storm will be mostly rain, according to the National Weather Service. For all of Connecticut, we can expect to see some snowflakes and ice Tuesday evening and early Wednesday, and then it’s a soaking rain all day and night Wednesday and into early Thursday.

Here are the latest details via the National Weather Service:

  • Monday: Sunny and temps in the mid 40s
  • Monday night: Dry and temps in the low to mid 20s
  • Tuesday: Snow is possible in southern Connecticut after 3 p.m. and it will change quickly to a mix of snow, sleet, and rain up until midnight. The mix will end by daybreak Wednesday, and temps will rise and it will change to just plain rain. A slushy accumulation of up to a half-inch of snow and ice is possible for New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties
  • Wednesday: Rain for the entire state with temps in the low to mid 40s and a half-inch of rain is possible
  • Wednesday night: Rain is heavier and we could see an inch or more of rain for the entire state as temps rise into the low 50s
  • Thursday: Rain ends between noon and 2 p.m.
  • Friday: sunny and temps in the mid to upper 30s

The forecast for the upcoming weekend is calling for no precipitation and will be seasonal, from a temperature standpoint.
