Mark the calendars, here's what's planned at the Mansfield Senior Center for the month of April.

Several events require advance ticket purchases. Please see details below.

AARP Tax-Aide Assistance – AARP’s Tax-Aide program provides free tax preparation to taxpayers with low to moderate income, with special attention to those 60 and older. Appointments are available Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 12th. Please call 860-429-0262 to schedule an appointment.

The Disabled/Elderly Homeowners Tax Credit Program- deadline is May 15th. Please call Kathy Ann Easley at 860-487-9873 for more information.

Mobile Food Share- April 14th and 28th. Parking lot of Wrights Way at 11:30am-12:00pm. Bring your shopping bags, no registration needed.

3rd Wednesday Luncheon and Entertainment- April 20th, Lunch at noon will be hotdogs, baked beans, potato salad and carrot cake. Clayton Allen is performing at 12:45pm. $7.00 per person. Please purchase your ticket at the senior center by 4/11.Transportaion is available.

Spring Magic- Thursday, April 21st. Enjoy Crafts and Games at 10:00am, a Magic Show with Magician Chris Hurlbert at 11:00am, and a Pizza Party at noon. Please purchase your ticket at the senior center by 4/18. Transportation is available.

Annual Intergenerational Dinner at E.O. Smith High School- Tuesday, April 12th from 5:00pm-8:00pm. Enjoy a 4-course Mediterranean meal prepared and served by UConn dietetic students. Following the meal enjoy a talent show from both students and Seniors. If you would like to perform let us know. $8.00 per person. Please purchase your ticket at the senior center by 4/5.5. Dinner and Disney- Friday, April 29th at 5:00pm. The UConn’s Child Development Lab students will host a pizza party and Finding Nemo Disney movie. All ages are invited. $5.00 per person. Please purchase your ticket at the senior center by 4/25.

Crafty Creations – Tuesday, April 19th at 1:00pm. This craft will be stitching together handkerchief sachets. They’re decorative and smell lovely. Use it in your closet, bureau or in a basket in your living room.

Savvy Social Security- Wednesday, April 13 at 10:00am. Join Foresters Financial regarding Social Security Planning. Light refreshments provided. Call 860-487-9870 to register by 4/11.
