2 Seriously Injured In Crash On I-91 In Meriden: State Police

The impact of the collision caused the Tahoe to be "projected into the concrete barrier in the median," state police said.

MERIDEN, CT — Two people were seriously injured, and another person was injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night on Interstate 91 northbound.

A 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe and a 2021 Honda Pilot were both involved in the crash around 8:31 p.m. State Police said the Tahoe was traveling on I-91 northbound in the left lane and the Pilot was traveling in the center lane.

The Tahoe began to reduce its speed due to a prior collision that occurred, state police said. The Tahoe began to encroach into the left lane and struck the Pilot, state police said.

The impact of the collision caused the Tahoe to be "projected into the concrete barrier in the median," which resulted in the Tahoe to turn over in the left lane, state police said.

The driver of the Tahoe was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, while the front passenger was also taken to the hospital, state police said. The passenger in the Pilot suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
