Meriden Public School Calendar For 2024-25: Key Dates To Know

MERIDEN, CT — The end of summer is rapidly approaching for Meriden students, and it’s once again time to prepare for the upcoming school year.

The first day of school in Meriden Public Schools is Wednesday, Aug. 28, according to the 2024-25 district school calendar.

Here are some of the other important 2024-25 school year dates to get on the calendar:

• Aug. 28 - School Opens
• Sept. 2 - Labor Day
• Oct. 14 - Columbus Day
• Nov. 5 - Election Day
• Nov. 11 - Veterans Day
• Nov. 28-29 - Thanksgiving Holiday
• Dec. 23-Jan. 1 - Holiday Recess
• Jan. 20 - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
• Feb. 17 - Presidents' Day
• Feb. 17-18 - Winter Vacation
• April 18 – Good Friday
• Apr. 14-18 - Spring Vacation
• May 26 - Memorial Day
• June 10 - Last Day of School
• June 19 – Juneteenth – District will be closed

Note: Snow make-up days will be scheduled at the end of the school year in June. If all snow days cannot be made up in June, the additional days will be subtracted from the Spring Vacation, starting at the end of that week. High school graduation dates will be determined at the second Board meeting in April. Teachers' last workday is the same as students' last school day
